This paid to blog opportunity came in by email from Andy Hayes (contact details below). I’m posting it here in case you’re interested – Sharonplumdeluxe weblogo Get Paid to Blog with Plum Deluxe

Tired of reading endless amounts of generic blog posts all full of the same “tips?”   Rather get involved with a website that talks about a more holistic approach to, well, living?  Then let me introduce you to Plum Deluxe.

Originally launched in 2007, Plum Deluxe is a recently re-launched brand whose mission is to share all the little ways to celebrate today.  Topics range from food and wine to travel, home, style and health.  The site centers around a philosophy of being an “everyday epicure,” and is focused mostly on affluent female readers.

Writers receive a $30 fee per approved featured, paid on acceptance and approval.  Posts are suggested to be around 800 words, but the site’s editors suggest letting the story guide to length instead of imposing a hard word count.

While most sections of the site are open to writers, the Plum Deluxe team suggests reading a few articles to get a flavor for the site, and then reviewing through the writer guidelines before submitting.  Below the guidelines are a short form for submitting pitches.  Expect a response between 2-6 weeks.

A quick recommendations from the editors (that will apply to all of your writing gigs, in fact):

  • Submit ideas on topics where you’re a natural expert.
  • Look at previous, recent topics that appear to be popular for ideas on what to submit.  Tip: articles listed in the newsletter are typically most popular.
  • Be creative!  The best ideas are for articles that couldn’t appear anywhere else but on Plum Deluxe.  Having said that, if you’re going out on a limb, be sure to give us some options.
  • Less is more – give us an overview of your approach, just enough to pique our interest and prove our expertise.  You don’t need to write the whole feature before it’s approved.

Speaking of piqued interest, if you’re ready to learn more, visit www.plumdeluxe.com.

Disclosure: I have not been paid for this post – Sharon
